It is based on Henri’s ongoing research conducted in collaboration with Finnish government and companies. He will also introduce his related start-up company and early product\, an “insights platform” built using large language models. At the center of recent developments is the shift from rule-based mechanical information processing towards “cognitive computing”\, probabilistic language processing with neural networks. Whereas the initial wave of SAAS services acted as “information pipelines” that store and transmit information\, the next wave of enterprise software will analyze\, synthesize\, process\, and act on knowledge contained in natural language. This means that the role of software will move from coordinating knowledge work increasingly to carrying out parts of it. While scary\, these changes can boost productivity and help elevate our focus from mundane tasks towards more strategic and value-adding activities.
