The Aalto MBA Association Scholarship has been awarded yearly to individuals who stand out for their academic achievements, leadership, and dedication to making a difference. This year, the 2024 Scholarship has been awarded to Katariina Ojala.

Congratulations to Katariina and warm thanks to all scholarship applicants! You, your background and future plans are truly amazing! It was a pleasure to have talks with some you.

“I’m truly honored to receive this scholarship and the chance to join the Aalto MBA Association board,” said Katariina. “I look forward to sharing ideas, learning from others, and helping to promote Finland’s digital knowledge to global audience. I’m excited to grow alongside the MBA community and contribute in meaningful ways.”

Katariina is the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Oiva Health, a company offering innovative digital care services. Their solutions make it easier for people of all ages to access social and healthcare services remotely, improving care quality, supporting independent living, especially for the elderly, and creating economic and environmental benefits.

Currently pursuing her MBA studies at Aalto EE in Helsinki, Katariina is focused on developing her leadership and business skills. She is passionate about making technology more human-centred and sees it as a powerful way to address challenges such as aging populations, workforce shortages, dementia, and environmental issues. ”It is important to get new digital solutions understood widely, not only with professionals but also within citizens and their relatives,” Katariina explains. “How we present and introduce these solutions plays a crucial role in their acceptance and success”.

Outside her professional life, Katariina has a diverse background. She holds a professional photography degree from Ecole Supérieure des Métiers Artistiques (France) and a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from the University of Eastern Finland. She is also interested in service design and enjoys finding ways to create meaningful and user-centred experiences.

In a fast-changing world, Katariina believes in the importance of working together, sharing ideas, and learning from different perspectives. She sees her involvement in the Aalto MBA Association as an opportunity to share Finnish innovations globally, support the MBA community, and build meaningful connections. “By working together and sharing knowledge, we can find powerful ways to tackle global challenges and make a real difference,” Katariina says
